CRITERIA FOR OBTAINING THE LABEL

The Green Key label certifies that a tourist establishment meets over a hundred criteria in all areas of sustainable tourism management. The main criteria for certification include: sustainable management of water and energy, waste reduction, use of environmentally-friendly products, involvement of customers and staff, and a responsible purchasing policy. The labelling process includes regular audits and the collection of evidence to attest to the seriousness of the establishments committed to this approach. The LAZ' Hôtel meets all these requirements, demonstrating its seriousness and rigour in its eco-responsible approach.

ECO-RESPONSIBLE PRACTICES AT THE LAZ' HOTEL

Through its actions and support, LAZ' is professionalising its approach to eco-responsible tourism. Consolidating our actions in favour of the voluntary sector and the environment and including them in our activities allows us to better control our actions, to determine the margins for progress that are still possible and to integrate these new working methods into the overall running of the establishment. Here are just a few of the eco-responsible practices implemented within the establishment in terms of intelligent waste management (reduction at source, collection such as coffee grounds and recycling), control of consumption and water, responsible purchasing (in particular for food and maintenance, active and collective awareness-raising).

WATER AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT

The hotel has introduced rigorous monitoring of consumption with sub-meters to better analyse and control its use in energy-intensive areas (swimming pool, laundry, etc.). All rooms are equipped with a centralised energy management system and electricity is automatically cut off when guests are absent.

To limit water consumption, the hotel ensures that leaks are detected quickly, flow rates are monitored and equipment is optimised. The cleaning products used are stored in secure conditions to prevent any pollution. This vigilance is reflected in every detail of daily operations.

WASTE REDUCTION

The LAZ' waste management policy is one of the most advanced among Parisian hotels. Sorting is organised for all categories of waste (glass, plastic, metal, cardboard, wood, bio-waste, etc.), with instructions visible to guests and easy access to sorting equipment within the establishment.

LAZ' has chosen to entrust the sorting, management and recycling of its bio-waste to Alchimistes in order to limit its carbon footprint and create new value from its organic waste. All bio-waste collected is composted, reprocessed and used in the soil of the Ile-de-France region.

Finally, to combat food waste, the hotel is working with the Too Good To Go platform, enabling its customers to pick up unsold food at low prices while preventing it from being thrown away.

USE OF ECOLOGICAL AND ORGANIC PRODUCTS

To ensure consistency, LAZ' has introduced a sustainable purchasing policy. This involves Eliminating single-use plastic products. For example, Castalie micro-filtered water is available in glass carafes in the rooms and a water fountain is available in the bar to avoid the consumption of plastic bottles. Paper, hand towels and brochures are eco-labelled or supplied by organisations with a positive social impact. The food on offer is carefully studied and prioritises organic, home-made, short-distance and fair-trade products.

Through Green Key certification, the LAZ' commits itself each year to a sustainable, ecologically virtuous and socially responsible approach to tourism by applying and passing on the good practices and recommendations of the Label to its teams, customers and suppliers.
